Despite a distinct lack of Christmas attire, seasonal cheer was in good evidence from all attendees which more than made up for it. In addition to our good turn out, we also had the pleasure of an excellent breakfast. Although by no means the cheapest breakfast we’ve had, the food was absolutely top notch. Generous portions were provided and there was no problem when I asked for the beans in my breakfast to be replaced with a portion of chips – in fact, I was rewarded with such a mountain of chips that I could probably have saved half for a reasonably substantial lunch!
While the sausage was not up to the standards of the last breakfast it was by no means unpleasant, and the bacon and mushrooms were excellent indeed. The egg was fair, although slightly cold. Rounding the meal off, the coffee was excellent – but was unfortunately not included in the price of breakfast, which is against all tradition and commonly observed caff manners. But I’ll forgive it this time. Partly because the view whilst demolishing the platter is so much better than anywhere else we’ve been.
